TV Shows with women are Haram: Mufti Taqi Usmani

Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani (May Allah preserve him) is of the opinion that digital pictures are not prohibited. However, he has categorically prohibited looking at a digital picture or video of a non-mahram adorned or uncovered woman. Therefore, those who have the false notion that Hazrat Mufti sahib allows watching conventional TV programs or movies which comprise of non-mahram women and lewdness should read his following disclaimer from the same fatwa where he discusses the issue of pictures.

TV and Video: As for TV and videos, then there is no doubt that it is haram to look at the many mukaraat (sinful things) that these two mediums comprise of,  like immodesty, obscenity, adorned or uncovered women, and other means of fisq (sins) and fujoor (lewdness).”

Below both references are uploaded.

N.B. “Uncovered” (translation of the Urdu word “neem barhanah” which was translated from the Arabic word “العاريات”) in Islam is any exposed awrah. The awrah of a woman is her entire body excluding the face, hands to her wrist and feet to her ankles according to the Ahnaaf.

N.B. The male’s awrah is from his navel to below his knees. Women are also commanded to lower their gazes in the Quran Majid. So do take heed.

Ask your heart, which kafir TV show or movie is free from women whose awrah aren’t exposed? Which show does not have sins like music and non-mahram men and women mixing?
