Using Haram as a Means of Da'wah Part 1

I was shocked to hear an ex-tablighi brother saying that he trimmed his beard low so that he can encourage others to grow a full one. Those who don’t have beards can relate to him better was his evidence of justification. May Allah forbid.

Others say we dress, walk and talk like the indecent youth of today to bring them closer to Allah. Others intermingle with the opposite sex with the objective of Da’wah. Guidance is the last thing coming from such gatherings. All it has ever brought was the fulfillment of the low carnal desires. And who is more astray than the one who follows his desires without any guidance from Allah? [Quran]

What we need to ask ourselves is, did the Sahabah adopt haram means to propagate the Deen? The purpose of Da’wah is to revive the Deen, not to trample on its commands.

The insight of our Akabir.

Almost 40 years ago Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Binnori (عليه الرحمة) after explaining the impressibility of using movies as a means of Da’wah said: “If we do not adopt this stance which has been explained, then today, for the sake of the people, we will be using films to propagate Deen, tomorrow women without pardah/hijaab will be used for spreading Deen, and we will try to bring people onto Deen through gatherings of music and dancing and in this way, in the name of propagating Deen, we will be trampling upon and destroying the laws of Shariat one by one.”

Subhaanallah. I was just informed about a video in which Muslim men and women are jumping and dancing to music in Islamic garb of jabbah and scarves as a means of Da’wah. They are portraying to the Non-Muslim that Muslims are also a happy, jolly bunch. May Allah forbid.

How can guidance come from sin and misguidance? How can a sheep come from a chicken egg?

From the Seerat-e-Mubaarakah of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam we are taught that the propagation of haq may only and only be done using mediums and methods which are that of the people of haq.
