Question:
In Taraweeh, the Imam stood up for the third rakat instead of sitting in the qa’dah. After the muqtadis cautioned him, he returned to the qa’dah. The Imam’s back was straight (when he stood up). However, he did not recite anything, meaning he did not do tilawah. Was the Taraweeh valid or not? The Imam also did the sajdah sahw.

Answer: وبالله التوفيق
In the case under question, since the Imam did the sajdah sawh in the end, the Taraweeh became valid.

Question:
Zaid made the intention to perform two rakats of Taraweeh, however instead of two he performed three rakats with one sitting. Now are these three rakats of ours useless or only one rakat and the other two are good? If all three are useless, then do these two have to be repeated or not?

Answer: وبالله التوفيق
In the case under question all three rakats were inadequate. Repeating the two rakats is necessary and the Quran recited in them should also be repeated. (امداد الفتاوى حاشية 1:497)

Question:
By mistake the Imam did not sit on the second rakat of Taraweeh and he stood up for the third rakat. Thereafter he performed four rakats and made sajdah sahw. What is the ruling of this salah? Will all be counted in Taraweeh or only two rakats?
باسمه سبحانه وتعالى
Answer: وبالله التوفيق
In the mentioned case, only the last two rakats will be valid. The first two rakats will be totally void (batil). The Quran recited in the first two rakats is to be repeated.
