Question:

There is a married man. He wishes that his wife wears clothing that he likes. She wears it to show him. However, the husband’s parents criticises the girl (the husband’s wife) for wearing such clothing. What is the ruling of this?

Answer: حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

If the style of clothing that the husband wishes his wife to wear is permissible, then the wife may wear such clothing to please her husband. This is recommendable (mustahsan) and desirable (matlub) in Shariah. Before dressing his wife with such clothing, the husband should inform his parents of the reality of the situation, so that they refrain from criticizing her.
