Question:
Why is the Qirat recited silently in Zuhr and Asr, and audibly in Maghrib, Esha and Fajr?
Also why is it audible in the first two rakats of Maghrib and Esha and silent in the last ones?
Answer: حامدا ومصليا ومسلما
The laws of the Shariah Mutahharah are all based on wisdom and have many benefits. Many of these benefits have been listed by the great scholars in their books.
Hazrat Shah Waliyullah Saheb Muhaddith Dehlavi’s book, Hujjatullahil Baalighah, is specifically written on this topic. Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ashraf Ali Thanvi has authored a book on this subject in the Urdu language by the name “al-Masaalih al-Aqliyyah”*. If you are interested then you may read this book.
Otherwise a believer’s disposition should be such, that without delving into the wisdom and benefits, he should appreciate the laws as from his Lord, and give his heart and life in fulfilling them.
And Allah Ta’aalaa knows best.
