Question:

1. People fire at nikah ceremonies out of show and to gain fame. Is such firing extravagance?

2. Is it permissible for anyone, especially ulama to attend nikah ceremonies where there are such customs?

Answer:

1. This custom of firing is extravagant and since it combines many evils, it is necessary to abandon such a practice.

2. Muqtadaa Ulama should not attend any such nikah ceremony that comprises of customs that are abominable in Shariah.
