Question:

Due to the disobedience of his wife, her nasty words, questionable behavior, and domestic fights, and after losing hope Zaid visualizing Allah’s presence in his heart said these words three time from his mouth “I have divorced you.” Zaid’s wife did not have any knowledge of this divorce. Will this be counted as a divorce in Shariah?

Answer:  حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

Since he uttered these words with his tongue, the divorces have occurred. It is not a condition that the wife hear (it).
