Darus Salam has recently published the four Sunan namely, Sunan Abi Dawud, Jami al-Tirmidhi, Sunan al-Nasa’i and Sunan ibn Majah with gradings of a pseudo muhaddith by the name of Zubair Ali Zai. The reader is advised to be aware of taking the gradings of this scholar with blind acceptance since he has many errors, contradictions and a bias against the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence in particular. At times the said scholar grades a particular chain weak, but then mentions that the hadith has many narrations that support it. Therefore it will rise to the level of hasan (sound). However the Darus Salam Publishers summarizes that research with the word (dhaef) or weak. This is at the height of academic injustices and a total distortion of even the said scholar’s opinion. May Allah protect the ummah from the deviant scholars whom the Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم warned us about.
