Saeed ibnul Musaiyyib (رحمه الله), one of the Noble Tabe’een said:

“I am 80 years old and yet there is nothing I fear more (for my spirituality) than (the fitnah of) women.”

   The Noble Shaikh was at the brink of losing his eyesight.

He came into this world in the era of Umar’s (رضي الله عنه) khilafah and died at the age of 84. He was a student of great sahabah the likes of Uthman, Ali, Zaid ibn Thaabit, Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas, Ibn Abbas and Ibn Umar etc.  (رضي الله عنهم) He was authorised to past fatwa even though many sahabah were alive. He was the most knowledgeable of the scholars of Madinah.

A person of such high caliber, who lived in an era of purity, making such a statement makes us wonder how careful we need to be in these times of indecency and lewdness.
