Mix-in-the-Pan Chocolate Chip Cake

What You Need

1/3 cup oilCAKE
2 oz. Baker’s Unsweetened Chocolate or
6 level tablespoons unsweetened cocoa and 2 tablespoon butter, margarine or shortening
1-1/3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 pkg. (300 g) Baker’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, divided

Make It

HEAT oven to 375°F.
HEAT oil and unsweetened chocolate in 9-inch square pan in oven 4 min. or until chocolate is melted; stir until blended.
ADD next 6 ingredients; beat with fork 2 min. or until well blended. Stir in half the chocolate chips; sprinkle with remaining chips.
BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.

Special Extra:
Sprinkle batter with 1/3 cup chopped nuts, such as pecans, walnuts, peanuts, before baking as directed.
Substitute:
Prepare using a 9-inch round pan.
