Name: Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idris Kandehlawi Sahib (R.A)
Title: Sheikhul Hadith wat Tafseer.He was also called Sheikhul Muhaditheen bt Hazrat Allamah Yusuf Binnori Sahib (R.A)

Demise: 1394/1974
Born: Bhopal, India ,whilst his home was in Kandhala.His father is of the decendants of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) and his mother is a decendant of Hazrat Umar (R.A)
Study
After completing the Hifz of the Quraan Shareef,he enrolled at Madrasah Ashrafiyya,Thanabowan where he studied the primary books.He completed his studies at the age of nineteen, in Saharanpur.He benefited greatly from Hazrat Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri Saheb (R.A) and others.He studied the Daurah Hadeeth year againin Deoband under Hazrat Anwar Shah Sahib Kashmiri (R.A.) , Allamah Shabbir Ahmad Usmani Sahib (R.A.), Hazrat Mufti Azizur Rahman Sahib (R.A.) and others.
Teaching
He initially taught at Madrasa Aminiyyah,Delhi in 1338/1921,thereafter in Deoband (Sheikhut Tafsir post) , then in Hyderabad.He migrated to Pakistan in 1949.He taught at Jamiah Abbasiyya, Bahawalpur, then in Jamiah Ashrafiyyah,Lahore ( sheikhul Hadeeth wat Tafseer) to the end of his life.
Literary works
He wrote on Tafseer (Ma`aariful Quraan,Al-Fathus Samawi bi Taudih Tafsir al Baydhawi, Muqaddamatut Tafsir as well a one part of Ahkaamul Quraan).

As well as Sirah (Siratul Mustapha).From his writings, the most widely accepted book is Siratul Mustapha.When three volumes of the original four were completed, he was aged forty. According to some this is the masterpiece of all literary works Of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idris Khandehlawi (R.A) . It stands out like a shining star and enjoys the most acceptance from all his writings.
No Urdu Sirah book compares to the greatness of Siratul Mustapha when it come to the depth of research and having the original sources as the foundation. Hazrat Maulana Idris has made clear what the feelings and ambitions of a true muslim should be with regards to Nabi ( Salal laahu alaihi wasallam). He has not adopted an inferiority complex in the light of European an Western objections on Islam.
It was the desire of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idris sahib (R.A.) to principally put together a Sirah work that will serve to bring out the authentic narrations of the life of Nabi  ( Salal laahu alaihi wasallam), and not to be affected by the objections of the Western and European scholars.Many Muslim writers have hidden narrations ,have willfully interpreted narrations according to their whimp, and have dismissed many narrations on flimsy accounts of them being weak. Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idris sahib (R.A.) has, through this work of his preserved the noble life of Nabi ( Salal laahu alaihi wasallam) and has given us confidence to stand up in the face of falsehood to protect and propagate true Islam.
In essence, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idris sahib (R.A.) stood out in his time as a Muhaddith, a Mufassir, Poet and Ascetic.His character was of a very high level, yet he led a very simple life. His life was spent in study, writing and teaching.He love books to such an extent that he bought any new book that came to the market.He was a cheerful persom and was very accommodating to one and all.
