The Issue of 80 Duroods After Asr on Fridays Explained from Al-Qawlul Badee of Hafidh Sakhawi

Allamah Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman Sakhaawi said in

“القول البديع في الصلاة على الحبيب الشفيع صلى الله عليه وسلم”:

[H] It is narrated from Sahl ibn Abdullah that he said, “He who says eighty (80) times on the day of Jumuah after Asr, [اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِنِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ], eighty (80) years of his sins will be forgiven.”

Collected by Ibn Bashkuwaal. Its meaning was recently mentioned in the hadith of Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه.

Explanation:

This is where Sakhawi mentions the statement of Sahl ibn Abdullah. After it, he reminds us that a narration of Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه [Hadith B] with a similar meaning was mentioned above. This is the famous narration of Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه which is under discussion.
