The Issue of 80 Duroods After Asr on Fridays Explained from Al-Qawlul Badee of Hafidh Sakhawi

Allamah Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman Sakhaawi said in

“القول البديع في الصلاة على الحبيب الشفيع صلى الله عليه وسلم”:

[C] It is also narrated from Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه and he elevated it (to the Messenger ﷺ) – but I did not find any basis for it,

“Allah made Ibrahim his Khalil, Musa his Naji, and he made me his Habib, then he said, ‘By my Honour and Grandeur, I will prefer my Habib over my Khalil and Naji.’ So, whoever sends salaat on me eighty (80) times on the night of Jumuah, two hundred (200) of his past sins and two hundred (200) years of his future sins will be forgiven.”

I feel it is not authentic. And Allah, alone, grants tawfiq.

Explanation:
By Hafidh Sakhawi’s two statements “but I did not find any basis for it” and “I feel it is not authentic”, it is clear that he is saying that it is most likely extremely weak, if not fabricated. And Allah knows best.
