Therefore, her <em>\u02bfiddah<\/em> can be 90, 89, or 88 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">If she was divorced on any other day, then there is a difference of opinion regarding how to calculate the 3 lunar months:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Im\u0101m Ab\u016b \u1e24an\u012bfah is of the view that it would be 90 days flat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">\u1e62\u0101\u1e25ibayn are of the view that the second and the third month will be calculated based on the sighting of the moon. As for the first month which was shorter than a full month, then after the third month\u2019s moon, she will add the amount of days remaining to make up thirty (30) days.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">For instance, if she was divorced (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>D<\/strong><\/span>) on the 10<sup>th<\/sup> <em>Muharram<\/em> (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">M<\/span>), then she would count <em>\u1e62afar<\/em> (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>S<\/strong><\/span>) and <em>Rab\u012b\u2019-ul-Awwal<\/em> (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>R1<\/strong><\/span>) according to the sighting of the moon. [In our example below, <em>\u1e62afar <\/em>had 29 days while <em>Rab\u012b\u2019-ul-Awwal<\/em> had 30] Thereafter, <u>in<\/u> <em>Rab\u012b\u2019-ul-Aakhir<\/em> (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>R2<\/strong><\/span>), she will wait 10 more days to make it a total of 30 with the first month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fiqhulislam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image_2022_01_12T16_05_21_694Z.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1150\" height=\"177\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">This ruling and difference of opinion applies to many other situations. For instance, the <em>\u02bfiddah<\/em> of a widow is 4 months 10 days.
