\u0628\u0633\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062d\u064a\u0645<\/span><\/p>\n

The Meanings of the Preposition \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There are nineteen \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u0648\u0641 \u0627\u0644\u062c\u0627\u0631\u0629 i.e. prepositions. The first which the author of Hid\u0101yatun Na<\/em>\u1e25<\/em>w <\/em>listed is: \u0652\u0645\u0650\u0646.<\/span><\/p>\n

It gives jar<\/em>r<\/em> to an \u0627\u0633\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0638\u0627\u0647\u0631; e.g. (\u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u062c\u062f\u0650) and it gives jarr<\/em> to a \u1e0d<\/em>am\u012br<\/em> (personal pronoun); e.g. (\u0645\u0650\u0646\u0647).<\/span><\/p>\n

The preposition \u0645\u0646 comes for four <\/strong>meanings:<\/span><\/p>\n

The first<\/strong> of them is: \u0627\u0628\u062a\u062f\u0627\u0621 \u0627\u0644\u063a\u0627\u064a\u0629 \u2018beginning of a limit\u2019. Limit means ending, i.e. \u0645\u0646 comes for the beginning of a limit which has an ending. Therefore, it is not used for beginning limits which do not have endings, like infinite matters. A sign that one can use \u0645\u0646 in the meaning of \u2018beginning of a limit\u2019 is when in its opposite there is an end upon which one can use the preposition \u0625\u0650\u0644\u0649 (until).<\/span><\/p>\n

This beginning is sometimes from a place like: \u0633\u0631\u062a \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0628\u0635\u0631\u0629\u0650 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0643\u0648\u0641\u0629, I travelled from Basra to Kufa. Another example is All\u0101h\u2019s statement:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0633\u064f\u0628\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a \u0623\u064e\u0633\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0649\u0670 \u0628\u0650\u0639\u064e\u0628\u0652\u062f\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0644\u064b\u0627 \u0645\u0650\u0651\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0633\u0652\u062c\u0650\u062f\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0627\u0645\u0650 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0633\u0652\u062c\u0650\u062f\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0623\u064e\u0642\u0652\u0635\u064e\u0649<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPure is that being who transported his slave by night from Masjidul Har\u0101m to Masjidul Aq\u1e63\u0101.\u201d[i]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

(In this example also, it shows that \u0645\u0646 starts the limit while \u0625\u0650\u0644\u0649 ends it.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes the beginning is regards to time, like All\u0101h mentions:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0633\u0652\u062c\u0650\u062f\u064c \u0623\u064f\u0633\u0650\u0651\u0633\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0651\u064e\u0642\u0652\u0648\u064e\u0649\u0670 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0648\u0651\u064e\u0644\u0650 \u064a\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u064d \u0623\u064e\u062d\u064e\u0642\u0651\u064f \u0623\u064e\u0646 \u062a\u064e\u0642\u064f\u0648\u0645\u064e \u0641\u0650\u064a\u0647\u0650<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSurely the mosque that was founded on piety from the first day is worthier for you to stand in.\u201d[ii]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes \u0645\u0646 comes simply to begin, without intending a specific ending.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second<\/strong>, of the four meanings is: \u2018explaining\u2019 \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0628\u064a\u064a\u0646 i.e. for clarifying the objective. The sign that one can use \u0645\u0646 in this meaning, is when it is correct place words like (\u0627\u0644\u0630\u064a) and its sisters in the place of \u0645\u0646, like the following \u0101yah<\/em>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0641\u064e\u0627\u062c\u0652\u062a\u064e\u0646\u0650\u0628\u064f\u0648\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0650\u0651\u062c\u0652\u0633\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652\u062b\u064e\u0627\u0646\u0650<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRefrain from the filth i.e.<\/strong> the idols.\u201d[iii]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

One can say: \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062c\u0633 \u0627\u0644\u0630\u064a<\/strong> \u0647\u0648 \u0627\u0644\u0627\u0648\u062b\u0627\u0646 \u201cFilth which<\/strong> are the idols.\u201d (In the example \u0645\u0646 was clarifying that \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062c\u0633 [filth] means \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0623\u064e\u0648\u0652\u062b\u064e\u0627\u0646\u0650 [idols].)<\/span><\/p>\n

Thirdly<\/strong>: coming in the meaning of \u0628\u0639\u0636 (some). The sign that one can use \u0645\u0646 in this meaning is when it is sound to place the word \u0628\u0639\u0636 in its place, like in \u0623\u062e\u0630\u062a\u064f \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0631\u0627\u0647\u0645\u0650, I took some dirhams. Indeed, it is correct to say: \u0623\u062e\u0630\u062a \u0628\u0639\u0636 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0631\u0627\u0647\u0645 and like how All\u0101h says in the Quran:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0648\u064e\u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0650 \u0645\u064e\u0646 \u064a\u064e\u0642\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0622\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u0650\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0640\u0647\u0650 \u0623\u0649 \u0628\u0639\u0636 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0627\u0633<\/span><\/p>\n

Here \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0650 came in the meaning of \u0628\u0639\u0636 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0627\u0633. So the translation would be: \u201cAnd of the people are some<\/strong> who say, \u2018We believe in All\u0101h.\u2019\u201d[iv]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Fourthly<\/strong>: \u0645\u0646 is used as \u0632\u0627\u0626\u062f\u0629 (an extra). The sign that \u0645\u0646 is in this meaning is that there will be no deficiency in the meaning by dropping off \u0645\u0646, rather the original meaning remains, like in: \u0645\u0627 \u062c\u0627\u0621\u0646\u064a \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0623\u062d\u062f\u064d \u2018No one came to me\u2019, so if it was said, \u0645\u0627 \u062c\u0627\u0621\u0646\u064a \u0623\u062d\u062f\u064c with the \u0645\u0646 being dropped off, there would not be any deficiency in the meaning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes \u0645\u0646 comes in the meaning of \u0641\u064a (in) like the following verse of the Quran:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0625\u0650\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0646\u064f\u0648\u062f\u0650\u064a\u064e \u0644\u0650\u0644\u0635\u0651\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0627\u0629\u0650 \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u064a\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u062c\u064f\u0645\u064f\u0639\u064e\u0629\u0650. \u0623\u064a : \u0641\u064a \u064a\u0648\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u062c\u0645\u0639\u0629<\/span><\/p>\n

Here \u0645\u0646 comes in the meaning of \u0641\u064a, so the translation for the above \u0101yah<\/em> would be: \u201cWhen the adh\u0101n<\/em> is called out for sal\u0101h<\/em> on the day of Jumu<\/em>\u02bf<\/em>ah<\/em>.\u201d[v]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

And sometimes \u0645\u0646 comes in the meaning of \u0627\u0644\u0628\u0627\u0621)) like in the statement of All\u0101h:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u064a\u064e\u0646\u0638\u064f\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0637\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0641\u064d \u062e\u064e\u0641\u0650\u064a\u064d\u0651 \u0623\u064a \u0628\u0637\u0631\u0641 \u062e\u0641\u064a<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLooking on with secretive glances.\u201d[vi]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes \u0645\u0646 comes in the meaning of \u0627\u0644\u0628\u062f\u0644 (exchange\/instead of), like in the statement of All\u0101h:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0623\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0636\u0650\u064a\u062a\u064f\u0645 \u0628\u0650\u0627\u0644\u0652\u062d\u064e\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0629\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u064f\u0646\u0652\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0622\u062e\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0623\u064a \u0628\u062f\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0622\u062e\u0631\u0629<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you satisfied with the life of this world instead<\/strong> of the Hereafter?\u201d[vii]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes \u0645\u0646 comes in the meaning of \u0639\u0644\u064a (on\/against) like in the statement of All\u0101h:<\/span><\/p>\n
