He said to them, \u201cWhen you go into sajdah, then make parts of your body touch the ground because a woman is unlike a man in these aspects.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Collected by Abu Dawud in \u2018Maraasil\u2019.<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Shaikh Zahrani As-Salafi<\/span> graded its chain until Yazid sound.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yazid was a reliable <em>Faqeeh Tabi\u2019ee<\/em>, therefore the narration is <em>mursal<\/em>. A <em>mursal<\/em> hadith is sufficient evidence on its own according to Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647. Imam Shafi\u2019ee \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 accepts it when supported. This <em>mursal<\/em> is supported by two other narrations collected by Baihaqi in his \u2018Sunan\u2019<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> as well as the consensus of the entire Ummah for 14 centuries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The great <em>Tabi\u2019ee<\/em> jurist and <em>muhaddith<\/em>, Ibrahim An-Nakha\u2019ee \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 said, \u201cA woman used to be commanded to place\/join her arm and her stomach to her thighs when she goes into sajdah and not to spread her limbs out as a male does so that her buttocks are not raised.\u201d Collected by Abdur Razzaq in his \u2018Musannaf\u2019.<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his book which he compiled specifically to prove the differences between the Salah of a man and woman, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Shaikh Abdul Haqq Al-Hashimi <u>As-Salafi<\/u><\/span> \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 said that the one commanding in this statement could either be the Nabi \ufdfa, the Sahabah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645 or the Tabi\u2019un \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647. He then concluded by saying, \u201cSo it is known by this (statement) that this issue was wide spread in the era of the Sahabah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645 and Tabi\u2019un \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 and that the Sahabah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645 and Tabi\u2019un \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 were of the opinion that the males will separate (their limbs in Sajdah)<strong> not<\/strong> the women.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a> Since then, the women of the Ummah were performing their salah in this state of <em>hayaa<\/em> and modesty until recent times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>The Hadith on Sajdah Like a Predatory Animal or Dog<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u0639\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0639\u064e\u0627\u0626\u0650\u0634\u064e\u0629\u064e\u060c \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e\u062a\u0652 \u0643\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0631\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u0650 \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645 \u064a\u064e\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0649 \u0639\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0639\u064f\u0642\u0652\u0628\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0651\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0637\u064e\u0627\u0646\u0650 <strong>\u0648\u064e\u064a\u064e\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0649 \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0641\u0652\u062a\u064e\u0631\u0650\u0634\u064e <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><u>\u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u062c\u064f\u0644\u064f<\/u><\/span> \u0630\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0627\u0639\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0627\u0641\u0652\u062a\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0627\u0634\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0651\u064e\u0628\u064f\u0639\u0650.<\/strong>\u200f<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aishah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 said, \u201cThe Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) used to prohibit from the devil&#8217;s way of sitting, and <strong>he forbade the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><u>man<\/u><\/span> to spread out his forearms (on the ground) like a predator<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Collected by Muslim in his &#8216;Sahih&#8217;.<a href=\"#_ftn5\" name=\"_ftnref5\">[5]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Shaikh Atiyah Saalim <u>As-Salafi<\/u> <\/span>\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 commented on this hadith by saying, \u201cUmmul Mumineen \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627 cautioned here that he \ufdfa prohibited from devil\u2019s way of sitting<a href=\"#_ftn6\" name=\"_ftnref6\">[6]<\/a> but prohibited whom? The person whom was prohibited was not fixed, therefore it is general for males and females. However, with regards to spreading the arms (on the ground) like a predator (including a dog) she said, \u201cHe \ufdfa prohibited <strong>the man,<\/strong>\u201d therefore the woman has a different ruling. Mentioning the man is <em>Mafhoomus Sifah<a href=\"#_ftn7\" name=\"_ftnref7\"><strong>[7]<\/strong><\/a><\/em>. Therefore, the ruling would be opposite (for the woman). This is why the Ulama all agree that the woman will <strong>not <\/strong>do like the man in Salah. The man will \u2026 as oppose to the woman because she will gather herself and spread her forearms. Therefore, the ruling of the woman is that she will spread her forearms and join them to her sides.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn8\" name=\"_ftnref8\">[8]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since this authentic narration of Sahih Muslim has the restriction of \u2018man\u2019 all other general narrations will be interpreted in a similar manner based on the principle that \u2018the <em>mutlaq<\/em> (absolute) is restricted and qualified by the <em>muqayyad<\/em> (restricted)\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The Hadith, \u201cPerform Salah as you see me performing Salah\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All those who advocate that women must perform Salah like men use the hadith \u201cPerform Salah as you see me performing Salah,\u201d as evidence. They say this command includes women and since the Messenger of Allah, himself separated his limbs in Sajdah, so should a woman. In refuting this, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Shaikh Abdul Haqq Al-Hashimi As-Salafi<\/span> \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 said, \u201cUsing the generality of the statement of the Prophet \ufdfa \u201cPerform Salah as you see me performing Salah,\u201d is analogy (qiyaas) and will not be deemed as using an explicit text as evidence.\u201d He went on to say that all the four Imams understood that there is a difference between the Salah of a man and woman and that many of the great scholars including Imam Ahmed, Ibn Daqiqul Eid, Amir Yamani and Ibn Qudamah \u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 even though they all narrated this hadith, \u201cPerform Salah as you see me performing Salah,\u201d yet these giants did not understand the generality that some people of the fourteenth century misunderstood from it. He said, \u201cWill it be said that \u2018The people of the fourteenth century are more knowledgeable than all these Imams?\u2019 Never! Far be it!\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn9\" name=\"_ftnref9\">[9]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rather, coming 14 centuries after and claiming that the Ummah got it wrong and you figured it out is nothing short of arrogance and conceit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">May Allah protect us from innovated opinions with regards to our Deen<\/span>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> #89 Zahrani\u2019s Edition<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref2\" name=\"_ftn2\">[2]<\/a> #3241, #3242<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref3\" name=\"_ftn3\">[3]<\/a> Musannaf Abdur Razzaq #5071, Baihaqi Vol.2 Pg.222<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref4\" name=\"_ftn4\">[4]<\/a> Nasbul Amood fi Masalah Tajaafil Mar-ah fil Ruku\u2019 was Sujood wal Qu\u2019ood, Rasail Vol.1 Pg.45<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref5\" name=\"_ftn5\">[5]<\/a> #498 Be cautioned that the English Translation of this Hadith in the Darus Salam Edition and Sunnah.com use generic words like &#8220;he forbade resting one&#8217;s arm&#8221; and &#8220;people&#8221;. This type of translation is incorrect as it leads to generalizing that which the Prophet\u00a0\ufdfa made specific.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref6\" name=\"_ftn6\">[6]<\/a> This means to sit on one\u2019s buttocks, then erect the thighs, join the knees to the chest and place the hands on the ground. [Fathul Mulhim Vol.3 Pg.488]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref7\" name=\"_ftn7\">[7]<\/a> Mafhoomus Sifah is a tool for deriving Shar\u2019ee laws. It means: When a ruling is mentioned restricted to a quality, the opposite ruling will apply when the quality is absent.
