It is an established ruling that a person may supplicate to Allah in his own words once he follows the etiquettes mentioned in the hadiths of the Nabi (\u0635\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u064f \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0645\u064e). All the muhaddithun also agree that weak narrations may be used in Fadhaail A\u2019maal.<\/p>\n
Many muhaddithun, like Ibn Abi Hatim in his \u2018Al-E’lal\u2019 and Haakim in \u2018Al-Mustadrak\u2019 and others (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647), have explicitly mentioned that Duas which have weak chains of narrations may also be read and recited.<\/p>\n
Scholars, like Tabarani, Nawawi, Ibn Taimiyah, Ibn Qaiyyim Jawziyah and many other\u00a0(\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) who complied Dua books from the hadith also mentioned many weak narrations in their books.<\/p>\n
There are some who like to falsely ascribe to the great muhaddith of this Ummah, Hafiz Ibn Hajr Asqalaani (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647)\u00a0that he did not allow practicing on weak hadith in Fadhaail. Below is one of the many quotes of his which dispels this fallacy.<\/p>\n
Imam Nawawi (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) said in his \u2018Al-Azkaar\u2019 under the chapter \u2018Desirable Azkaar on the Day and Night of Jumu\u2019ah and Duas\u2019:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have narrated in the Book of Ibn Sunni (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) from Aishah (\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627) that she said that the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u064f \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0645\u064e), \u201cWhosoever recites after the Jumuah salah \u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652 \u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0623\u064e\u062d\u064e\u062f\u064c, \u0648\u064e\u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0630\u064f \u0628\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0642\u0650, and \u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0639\u064f\u0648\u0630\u064f \u0628\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0650 \u00a0seven times, Allah (azza wa jall) will protect him from evil until the next Jumuah.\u201d [Azkaar of Nawawi Pg.259 #442]<\/p>\n
When referencing this hadith Hafiz Ibn Hajr (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) said in \u2018Nataaijul Afkaar\u2019:<\/p>\n
\u201cIts chain is weak. It is befitting that (this) is confined after those zikrs, which were narrated in authentic narrations.<\/strong> \u00a0It has a shaahid (supporting hadith) from the mursal of Makhul, collected by Saeed ibn Mansoor in \u2018As-Sunan\u2019 from Faraj ibn Fadhalah. Faraj is weak as well.\u201d<\/p>\n [See: Nataaijul Afkaar Vol.5 Pg.61 Majlis #427, Futoohaat Rabbaniyyah Vol.4 Pg.232-3, Faidhul Qadir Vol.6 Pg.203-4, At-Tanwir by San\u2019ani Vol10 Pg.361]<\/p>\n Even though Hafiz Ibn Hajr (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) considered the narration to be weak he still encouraged\u00a0reciting it.
