This is based on the hadith related by Ibn Abbas\u00a0(\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645\u0627) that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said, \u201cO people of Makkah, do not shorten your Salah in less than four <em>burud<\/em>, from Makkah to U\u2019sfaan.\u201d Ibn Umar (\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645\u0627) and Ibn Abbas (\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645\u0627) used to shorten their Salah and leave fasting in four <em>burud<\/em>[\u2018s travel]. That could only be practiced if heard from the Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each <em>barid<\/em> (singular of <em>burud<\/em>) is four <em>farasikh<\/em>. A <em>farsakh<\/em> is three <em>Hashimi<\/em> miles.
