Amongst his students were the likes\u00a0of Ahmed ibn Salman An-Najjaad and Abu Bakr Ash-Shafi\u2019ee.<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[1]<\/a>\u00a0(\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Imam Daarqutni (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) said, \u201cHe was a <em>thiqah<\/em> (reliable narrator) and a <em>faadhil<\/em> (man of virtue).\u201d<a href=\"#_edn2\" name=\"_ednref2\">[2]<\/a> Hafiz Zahabi (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) states, \u201cHe was reliable, narrated a lot of hadith and meticulous.\u201d<a href=\"#_edn3\" name=\"_ednref3\">[3]<\/a> Imam Haakim Naisaburi (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647)\u00a0narrates through him in his \u2018Mustadrak ala Saheehain\u2019.<a href=\"#_edn4\" name=\"_ednref4\">[4]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Khatib Baghdadi (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) narrates that he said, \u201cIn my old age I used to recite every day and night Surah Ikhlaas 31,000 or 41,000 times.\u201d<a href=\"#_edn5\" name=\"_ednref5\">[5]<\/a> Ibn Kathir (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) also mentions this in his \u2018Al-Bidayah wan Nihayah\u2019.<a href=\"#_edn6\" name=\"_ednref6\">[6]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The great <em>musnid<\/em> and hadith scholar Abu Musa Al-Madini (d.581 A.H.) (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) narrates in his book \u2018Khasaa-isul Musnad\u2019:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abu Bakr ibn Sulaiman (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647)\u00a0said that I heard Abu Bakr Ya\u2019qub ibn Yusuf al-Muttawwi\u2019ee (\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647) saying, \u201cI sat with Abu Abdillah, Ahmed ibn Hanbal for <strong>13 years<\/strong> while he was reading the \u2018Musnad\u2019 to his children. <strong>I did not write one letter. I wrote his <em>Aadaab<\/em> (etiquettes), his <em>Akhlaaq<\/em> (character) and I maintained them.<\/strong>\u201d In another narration he states, \u201c<strong>I used to look at his <em>hady<\/em> (mannerism) and emulate it.<\/strong>\u201d<a href=\"#_edn7\" name=\"_ednref7\">[7]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Subhaanallah. Our <em>Aslaaf<\/em> placed so much emphasis on <em>Aadaab<\/em> and etiquettes. If there was anything in this to frown upon, as many may do in our times of immodesty and shamelessness, Imam Ahmed would never had allowed him to sit there \u201cidly\u201d \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0639\u064a\u0627\u0630 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647. Learning and inculcating <em>Adaab<\/em>\u00a0is the only road to success. No time spent on it is too much.\u00a0The Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) heard a man censuring his brother regarding <em>hayaa<\/em>\u00a0(modesty). Upon this the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) remarked, \u201c<em>Hayaa<\/em> (Modesty) is part of Iman (faith).\u201d<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[8]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O Allah guide us\u00a0to pious deeds and morals. None of the giant muhaddithun who narrated this, the likes of Khatib Baghdadi, Ibnul Jawzi in &#8216;Al-Muntadhim&#8217; and Ibn Kathir frowned upon this or criticized him or any other person for &#8216;overindulgence&#8217; in ebaadah.
