{"id":4390,"date":"2016-02-08T05:15:50","date_gmt":"2016-02-08T09:15:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fiqhulislam.co\/?p=4390"},"modified":"2016-02-08T05:15:50","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T09:15:50","slug":"albanis-criticism-ibn-hazms-knowledge-hadith-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiqhulislam.com\/?p=4390","title":{"rendered":"Albani\u2019s Criticism of Ibn Hazm\u2019s Knowledge of Hadith Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ibn Hazm was a scholar of the 5<sup>th<\/sup> century Hijri, who followed the Zahiri School of Though. He claimed to be a Mujtahid of the caliber of the four Imams or higher. The earlier scholars had refuted him vehemently, and rightly so. However, nowadays, in these times of ignorance, many of his opinions which\u00a0contradict mainstream Sunni Fiqh is being heralded as the ultimate truth. Many of his promoters consider Shaikh Albani as an authority in hadith sciences. So below we produce Albani\u2019s harsh criticism of Ibn Hazm\u2019s knowledge of hadith science, which is a pre-requisite of\u00a0 the Ijtihad he claimed:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After mentioning the hadith transmitted by Anas \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u00a0that the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa\u00a0said: \u201cTwo sounds are accursed in the World and Hereafter; a flute at the time of a blessing and a humming at the time of a difficulty,\u201d Shaikh Albani mentioned those who collected it in their hadith compilations with their chains of narrations and he also mentioned a supporting hadith transmitted by Jabir \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u00a0and those muhadditheen who collected it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Albani then quotes Ibn Hazm from his \u2018Risalah\u2019 (Pg.97) saying:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2018It is not known who narrated it,\u2019 and from his \u2018Muhalla\u2019 (Vol.9 Pg.57-58) saying:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2018We do not know any chain for it. They simply mentioned it generally and this is nothing.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then <strong>Albani remarks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis is one of the many evidences on the accuracy of Hafiz Ibn Abdil Haadi\u2019s criticism concerning Ibn Hazm:<strong> \u2018He [Ibn Hazm] makes a lot of errors in his authentication and criticism of hadith and in his classification of the conditions of the narrators.\u2019<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[See Albani\u2019s Tahrimu Aalaatil Tarb Pg.51-54]<\/p>\n<p>So be cautioned, O reader.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fiqhulislam.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ibn-Hazm-Albani.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4391\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-4391\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fiqhulislam.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ibn-Hazm-Albani-300x83.png\" alt=\"Ibn Hazm Albani\" width=\"644\" height=\"178\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ibn Hazm was a scholar of the 5th century Hijri, who followed the Zahiri School of Though.
