Is it suitable for practice? What is the alternative du\u2019a at Iftar? Jazak\u2019Allahu Khairan<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Answer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I haven\u2019t seen these exact words in Sunan Abi Dawud or any other primary Hadith source.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The words that are found in the primary sources are as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Allahumma laka sumtu wa \u2018ala rizqika aftartu<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Translation:<\/strong> O Allah, I have fasted for you [your sake] and I open my fast with the sustenance that you provided.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(Sunan Abi Dawud, hadith: 2350 &amp;\u00a0Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, hadith: 9837)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This narration is mursal (wherein a Tabi\u2019i attributes the Hadith directly to Rasulullah sallallahu\u2019alayhi wasallam) <strong>but suitable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(refer to footnotes of my esteemed Shaykh Muhaddith Muhammad \u2018Awwamah on Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah, hadith: 9837)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other wordings of this du\u2019a do appear in the following extremely weak narrations:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>\u00a0\u2013 Allahumma laka sumtu wa \u2018ala rizqika aftartu fataqabbal minni innaka anta Sami\u2019ul \u2018Alim<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(Al-Mu\u2019jamul Kabir, hadith: 12720 &amp; Sunan Daraqutni, hadith: 2280\u00a0on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn \u2018Abbas, with a very weak chain)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u2013 Allahumma laka sumtu wa \u2018alayka tawakkaltu wa \u2018ala rizqika aftartu<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(Musnadul Harith on the authority of Sayyiduna \u2018Ali, with a very weak chain;
