Is it also permissible to talk to her?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Answer:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When a person goes to look at a prospective spouse with the intention of marrying her, it is permissible to speak to her <strong>briefly<\/strong> (in the presence of her mahram). However, there is fitnah in speaking to her romantically\u00a0and for a long period like how a married couple do. Therefore this in <strong>not<\/strong> permissible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(Hazrat Mufti) Radhaul Haqq (May Allah preserve him)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Fatawa Darul Uloom Zakariyah<\/span> Vol.3 Pg.537<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Question:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zaid had proposed to a girl and she has already accepted. Can Zaid speak to her before the <em>nikaah<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Answer:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The pure Shariah has given permission to speak at the time of need. Since the engagement is complete there is no need to talk. In Shariah it is totally reprehensible to speak to ones fianc\u00e9e before <em>nikah<\/em> in a romantic manner. More dangerous than this is to drive around in cars with one&#8217;s fianc\u00e9e. There is <em>khalwah<\/em> (seclusion) in this case, which is totally impermissible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One must remember that the fianc\u00e9e is in the ruling of an <em>ajnabiyah<\/em> (non-mahram\/a strange woman). It is mentioned in Durr Mukhtaar (6:369):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0648\u0644\u0627 \u064a\u0643\u0644\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0627\u062c\u0646\u0628\u064a\u0629<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(It is not permissible to speak to an <em>ajnabiyah<\/em> (non-mahram).)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is mentioned in Majmooah Qawaaneen Ismali:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;It is haram for both of them to meet in seclusion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0648\u0641\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0627\u0634\u0628\u0627\u0647 : \u0627\u0644\u062e\u0644\u0648\u0629 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0627\u062c\u0646\u0628\u064a\u0629 \u062d\u0631\u0627\u0645<\/strong> &lt;\u0627\u0644\u062f\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u062e\u062a\u0627\u0631 3:323<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Majmooah Qawaaneen Ismali Pg.37 Code.11 with footnote)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is mentioned in &#8216;Aap ke Masaail aur unka Hal&#8217;:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Before nikah the fianc\u00e9 is an ajnabi (strange man). Therefore the rule of a strange man will apply. He will not be allowed to mix with the woman. If something has become a norm in society, that is <strong>not<\/strong> an evidence (of permissibly) at all. Any such custom that is against Shariah needs to be rectified.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is not permissible to meet or go in seclusion before nikah. To meet and mingle before nikah is an indecency in itself.
