Question<\/strong><\/p>\n

I just wanted to know what the ruling is in Islam regarding men wearing red shirts\/clothes.<\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong>
\nIn the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong>
\nAs-sal\u0101mu `alaykumwa-rahmatull\u0101hiwa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>
\nIt is Makrooh Tahreemi (Highly reprehensible) for men to wear red and yellow clothes which are dyed with safflower (Carthamus tinctorious) and Saffron.[1]<\/p>\n

It is Makrooh Tanzeehi (undesirable) for men to wear plain red and yellow clothes.<\/p>\n

If the red or yellow color is broken up with another color, it will be permissible to wear such clothing. For example, Arab shawls which have a mixture of red\/yellow and other colors.<\/p>\n

It is permissible for men to wear clothes with all other colors.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, wearing a Qamees or Kurta with red stripes is permissible without any dislike. A kurta having red embroidery is also permissible without any dislike.<\/a> [Imdadul Ahkaam 4\/362]<\/p>\n

According to the Fuqaha, a topi, cap, socks, shoes, blanket and sleeping bags are not considered to be items of clothing. Hence, it would be permissible, without any dislike, to wear any of those items even if they were red or yellow.<\/p>\n
