(Bukhari 568)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.<\/strong>\u00a0To recite Bismillah and close the doors of one&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Saiyiduna Jabir ibn Abdullah said, the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said: &#8220;Then when part of the night has passed, let them go and close the doors and mention the Name of Allah&#8221;. (Muslim 2012)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3.<\/strong> To cover pots and tie up water-skins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was narrated from J\u00e2bir \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 that the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said: &#8220;Cover vessels and tie up water-skins\u201d. (Muslim 2012)<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> To extinguish any lamps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0It was narrated that Ibn Abbas \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 said: &#8220;A mouse came and started dragging a wick, and brought it, and dropped it before the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) on the mat on which he was sitting, and it burned a hole in it the size of a dirham. He said: &#8216;When you go to sleep, extinguish your lamps, for the <i>Shaitan <\/i>directs a creature such as this to do this, to burn you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>(Abu Dawud 5247)<br \/>\n<strong>5.<\/strong> To sleep in the state of ritual purity (wudhu).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b>Bara&#8217; bin A&#8217;zib \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 narrated that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said to me, &#8220;Whenever you go to bed perform ablution like that for <i>Salah\u00a0<\/i>(prayer).<\/p>\n<p>Sayyidinah Abbullah ibn Umar narrates that the Prophet said: \u201cAn angel shares the bed of the person who passes the night in a state of purity (i.e. wudhu). When he awakens the angels supplicate saying,\u201d O Allah, forgive this servant of yours.\u201d( Ibn Hibban 1051)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was narrated from Abu Zabyah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647, from Mu&#8217;adh bin Jabal \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647, that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said: &#8220;There is no Muslim who sleeps remembering Allah, and in a state of purity, then wakes up at night, and asks Allah for good in this world and in the Hereafter, but He will give him that.&#8221;(Abu Dawud 5042)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>6.<\/strong> If a person intends to sleep in the state of major ritual impurity (Janabah), then it is <i>masnoon <\/i>to wash their private parts and perform wudhu or tayyamum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hazrat Aishah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627 narrated that, Whenever the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) intended to sleep while he was <i>Junub, <\/i>he used to wash his private parts and perform ablution like that for the salah (prayer). (Bukhari 288)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7.<\/strong> To wash ones hands if they are greasy (due to food).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was narrated that Abu Hurairah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 said: &#8220;The Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)said: \u201cWhoever sleeps with grease on his hands without washing them, and something happens to him, he has no one to blame but himself.&#8221; (Abu Dawud 3852)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a08<\/strong>.\u00a0To change ones clothes before sleeping.<br \/>\n(Tahawi 1\/30, Subulul Hudaa war Rashaad 7\/570, Sunan wa Aadaab 28)<br \/>\n<strong>9<\/strong>.\u00a0To sleep with a good intention (like to rest the body).<br \/>\nSalman \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 went to visit Abu Darda&#8217; \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647, and saw Umm Dard\u00e3&#8217; \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627 wearing shabby clothes, so he said: &#8216;Why are you wearing such shabby clothes?&#8217; She said: &#8216;Your brother Abu Dard\u00e3&#8217; has no interest in the world.&#8217; So when Abu Darda&#8217; arrived, he prepared some food for him (Salman) and said: &#8216;Eat, for I am fasting.&#8217; He (Salman) said: &#8216;I shall not eat until you eat.&#8221; He said: &#8220;So he ate. When night came Abu Dard\u00e3&#8217; started to leave and stand (in prayer), but Salman said to him: &#8216;Sleep.&#8217; So he slept. Then he went to stand (in prayer) but he said to him: &#8216;Sleep&#8217;, so he slept. When it was close to the morning, Salman said: &#8216;Get up now.&#8217; So they got up and performed <i>Salah. <\/i>Then he (Salman) said: &#8216;Indeed yourself has a right upon you, your Lord has a right upon you, your guest has a right upon you, and your family has a right upon you. So give each the right they are due. They went to the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645), mentioned it to him, so he said: &#8216;Salman spoke the truth.<br \/>\nTirmithi (2413)<br \/>\n<strong>10<\/strong>. To repent before sleeping.<br \/>\nAbu Sa&#8217;eed [\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647] narrated that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said:<br \/>\n&#8220;Whoever says, when he goes to his bed: &#8216; (Astaghfirullaha lladhi Laa ilaaha illaa Huw, Alhayyul-Qayyum, Wa At\u00fcbu Ilaihi) I seek forgiveness from Allah, the One whom there is none worthy of worship except for Him, the Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him &#8216; three times, Allah shall forgive him his sins if they are like the foam of the sea, even if they were the number of the leaves of the trees, even if they were the number of sand particles of &#8216;aalij, even if they were the number of the days of the world.&#8221;<br \/>\nTirmithi (3397)<br \/>\n<strong>11<\/strong>. To clean ones heart from hatred and jealousy.<br \/>\nAnas bin M\u00e3lik \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 narrated that the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said to me: \u201c0 my son! If you are capable of (waking up in) the morning and (ending) the evening, while there is nothing of false-heartedness in your heart for anyone, then do so.\u201d Then he said to me: &#8216;0 my son! That is from my Sunnah. Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me, he shall be with me in Paradise.&#8221;<br \/>\nTirmithi (2678)<br \/>\n<strong>12<\/strong>.\u00a0To sleep with the intention of waking up for Tahajjud.<br \/>\nAbu-Darda \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 narrated that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said<b><i>: <\/i><\/b>&#8220;Whoever goes to his bed intending to get up and pray <i>Qiyam<\/i> at night, then sleep<b><i> <\/i><\/b>overwhelms him until morning, will \u00a0have recorded that which he intended, and his sleep is a charity given to him by his Lord, the Mighty and Sublime.&#8221;<br \/>\n(Nasai 1788)<br \/>\n<strong>13<\/strong>.\u00a0To recite aayatul kursi before sleeping.<br \/>\nAbu Hurairah (ra) said: \u201cThe Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) deputised me to keep (guard over) Sadaqah of Ramadan. Someone came and started taking handfuls of the Sadaqah quickly. I took hold of him and said, \u2018By Allah, I will take you to the Messenger of Allah.\u2019 He said, \u2018I am needy and have many dependents.\u2019 I released him, and in the morning the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) asked me, \u2018What did your prisoner do yesterday?\u2019 I said, \u2018O Messenger of Allah! The person complained of being needy and of having many dependents, so I pitied him and let him go.\u2019 The Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said, \u2018Indeed, he told you a lie and he will return.\u2019 I believed that he would return again as the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) had told me that he would return. So I waited for him watchfully. When he returned and started stealing handfuls of foodstuff I caught hold of him again and said, \u2018I will definitely take you to the Messenger of Allah.\u2019 He said, \u2018Leave me, for I am very needy and have many dependents. I promise I will not come back again.\u2019 I pitied him and let him go.<br \/>\nIn the morning the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) asked me, \u2018What did your prisoner do?\u2019 I replied, \u2018O Messenger of Allah! He complained of his great need and of too many dependents, so I took pity on him and set him free.\u2019 The Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said, \u2018Verily, he told you a lie and he will return.\u2019 I waited for him attentively for the third time, and when he came and started stealing handfuls of the Sadaqah, I caught hold of him and said, \u2018I will surely take you to the Messenger of Allah as it is the third time you promise not to return, yet you break your promise and come.\u2019 He said, \u2018Forgive me and I will teach you some words with which Allah will benefit you.\u2019 I asked, \u2018What are they?\u2019 He replied, \u2018When ever you go to bed, recite <b>Ayat al-Kursi:<\/b> \u2018Allah \u2013 There is no God but He, the Living, the Everlasting\u2019, till you finish the whole verse. If you do so, Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no devil will come near you till morning.\u2019 So, I released him.<br \/>\nIn the morning, the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) asked, \u2018What did your prisoner do yesterday?\u2019 I replied, \u2018He claimed that he would teach me some words by which Allah will benefit me, so I let him go.\u2019 The Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) asked, \u2018What are they?\u2019 I replied, \u2018He said to me, \u2018When ever you go to bed, recite Ayat al-Kursi from the beginning to the end: \u2018Allah \u2013 There is no God but He, the Living, the Everlasting.\u2019 He further said to me, \u2018If you do so, Allah will appoint a guard for you, who will stay with you, and no devil will come near you till morning.\u2019 The Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said, \u2018He really spoke the truth, although he is an absolute liar. Do you know whom you were talking to, these three nights, O Abu Hurairah?\u2019 Abu Hurairah said, \u2018No.\u2019 He said, \u2018It was Shaytan (the Devil).\u2019\u201d<br \/>\n[Bukhari: 2311]<br \/>\n<strong>14<\/strong>.\u00a0To recite the last two verses of surah Baqarah.<br \/>\nAbu-Musa al-Badari \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 narrated that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said:&#8221;Whosoever recited the last two Verses of <i>Surat Al<b>-Ba <\/b>qarah <\/i>at night, that will be sufficient for him.&#8221;<br \/>\n(Bukhari 4008)<br \/>\n<strong>15<\/strong>. To recite Suratul Kafiroon before sleeping.<br \/>\nKhabbab \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647 narrates that the Messenger of Allah (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) never came on his bed but he recited \u2018<em><b>\u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u064a\u064f\u0651\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0643\u064e\u0627\u0641\u0650\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e<\/b><\/em>\u2019 till the end.<br \/>\n(Tabrani in Kabeer 3708)<br \/>\nIt was narrated from Farwah ibn Nawfal, from his father that the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)<i> <\/i>said to Nawlal:<br \/>\n&#8220;Recite \u2018<em><b>\u0642\u064f\u0644\u0652 \u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u064a\u064f\u0651\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0643\u064e\u0627\u0641\u0650\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e<\/b><\/em>\u2019 then go to sleep at the end of it, for it is a disavowal of <i>Shirk.&#8221;<\/i><br \/>\n(Abu Dawud #5055)<br \/>\n<strong>16.<\/strong>\u00a0Recite <i>Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas,<\/i> thereafter blow in your palms and wipe over your entire body.<br \/>\nAishah \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627\u00a0 narrated that:\u00a0 \u201cWhenever Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) went to bed, he used to recite <i>Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat<\/i> <i>Al-Falaq <\/i>and <i>Surat An-Nas <\/i>and then blow on his palms and pass them over his face and those parts of his body that his hands could reach. And when he fell ill, he used to order me to do it like that for him.\u201d (Bukhari 5748)<br \/>\n<strong>17.<\/strong>\u00a0To recite <i>Surah Alif laam Meem sajdah, Surah Mulk, Surah Bani Israeel <\/i>and<i> Surah Zumar<\/i> before sleeping.<br \/>\nJabir said: &#8220;The Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) would not sleep until he recited <i>Tanzzl as-Sajdah <\/i>and <i>Tabarak.<\/i> (Tirmidhi 3404)<br \/>\nAishah \u00a0\u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0627said: &#8220;The Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) would not sleep until he recited <i>Az-Zumar <\/i>and <i>Banu Israeel.<\/i>\u201d (Tirmidhi 3405)<br \/>\n<strong>18<\/strong>.\u00a0To recite the <i>Duaas<\/i> that are prescribed in the hadith of the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.\u00a0To sleep early unless there is an important Deeni or worldly task to complete.
