The Reality of the Reckoning will be explained in the actual order in which it will unfold with no exaggeration or undue drama. This tremendous event will have seven distinct stages:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0The sounding of the Trumpet<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. \u00a0 \u00a0The Swoon, the Trauma and the Opening of the graves<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. \u00a0 \u00a0The Gathering and the Standing<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. \u00a0 \u00a0The Judgement, the Scales and the Weighing<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. \u00a0 \u00a0The Sorting out into the three groups<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. \u00a0 \u00a0The Final Determination (the Winners, the Losers)<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. \u00a0 \u00a0The Final Destination (Paradise or Hellfire)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    THE SOUNDING OF THE TRUMPET<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Hadrat Abu Sa\u2018id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah\u2019s Messenger (may Allah\u2019s blessings and peace be upon him) as saying:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cHow can I be at ease when the one who blows the trumpet (that is, Israfil, peace be upon him) has put it to his mouth, inclined his ear and bent his forehead waiting to see when he will be ordered to blow it.\u201d \u2026 (Tirmidhi)<\/span><\/p>\n

    Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) also said:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cThat when Allah, Most High completed the creation of the Heavens and the earth, He created the \u201cSoor\u201d (i.e. the Trumpet or the Horn) and Allah gave the \u201cSoor\u201d to the angel whose name is Israfil (as) and he (Israfil) placed the horn onto his mouth. From that time until now, he is holding the horn to his mouth and his eyes are fixed upon the Throne of Allah, Most High. He is waiting for the order from Allah to blow into this horn.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Prophet (PBUH) has further told us that from that day, the angel Israfil (as) has never bowed down, he has never blinked, fearing that Allah, Most High may order him to blow into the horn before he is able to raise his head, or before he is able to complete his blink, therefore his eyes are fixed upon the Throne of Allah, waiting for the command to blow.<\/span><\/p>\n

    On that Day Allah, Most High will say:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cO Israfil \u2013 Blow into the horn.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The hadith of Abu Hurairah continues by saying:<\/span><\/p>\n

    The angel Israfil will blow into the horn and continue to blow into it and he will not get tired or require any rest. The sound from the horn will be so terrifying that all those in the Heavens and the earth will be traumatised upon its sound except for those whom He, Allah, Most High wishes to be spared from that terror.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The sound of that horn will send shock waves greater than that of the hydrogen bomb, the atomic bomb or the neutron bomb throughout the universe, causing the entire environment to rupture and to go into convulsion and chaos everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

    On that Day<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0when the Trumpet is sounded, young people who are strong and handsome, will become suddenly old and their hair will turn white from the trauma and their bones will start to split and crack.<\/span><\/p>\n

    On that Day<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0parents will run from their children, the children will run from their parents, the mother who is nursing will abandon her child. The pregnant woman will abort. Every person will only be concerned about themselves on that terrible day. You will see the human beings as if they were in a drunken state (i.e. they will fall into a swoon) and a state of delirium, although they will not actually be drunk. They will be terrified and paralysed out of fear and trauma.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Even the Devil, Shaytan himself \u2013 who was given respite for disobeying the Command of Allah, will be full of terror because he knows that this is the Day of his Final Reckoning. He and his army of devils will flee to various corners of the world, seeking to escape but they will find no hiding place. The angels of Allah will chase them, trap them and begin to administer beatings and punishment upon them.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The human beings and the jinn will experience such pain and humiliation that they could never imagine: They will see the Heavens rupture, and the stars will fall from their places and nothing will remain in its place including the earth itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The sounding of the trumpet will proclaim that the Day of Judgment, as is promised by Allah, has finally come, that this world has ended, and that the Hereafter has begun. The Reality is here from which none can escape.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This unexpected sound, which is unlike anything ever heard before, will cause people to realize that their time is up, for it indicates the beginning of infinite fear, terror, and hopelessness for the unbelievers\u2014a very hard Day for them indeed.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This life of temporary pleasure will come to an end when the trumpet sounds. All people have come face to face with what was promised. The fear and terror that they experience when confronted with such events is beyond words.<\/span><\/p>\n

    On that day,<\/span>\u00a0at that moment, nothing on Earth will have any meaning. Everything that led people astray\u00a0<\/strong>(e.g., luxurious houses, gigantic skyscrapers, 5-star hotels, ambitiously accumulated life savings, houses, decorations, palaces, bridges, all of the most famous buildings, the Pyramids that have survived all natural disasters so far, historic castles, and whole cities)\u00a0all will crumble like sand castles on the beach<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Everything that makes people proud to possess it, as well as their fame, honor, prestige, and power, will be destroyed instantly and become meaningless instantaneously.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Now that we can now try to attempt something of a visual\u2026 Know This!<\/span><\/p>\n

    THE MOUNTAINS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    On that Day, the mountains, together with all of the plants, flowers, vegetation, minerals, and differently colored soils will be will be uprooted and scattered around together as mere dust. The mountains, having become dust and smoke, will be dispersed. This is described in the verses:<\/span><\/p>\n

    [On the Day] the mountains [will be] like tufts of colored wool. (Surat al-Qari\u2018a, 5)<\/span><\/p>\n

    All the mountains will move from their place, turning into fluffs of cotton and moving like clouds, although before that, they were the most stabilising elements on the earth. They will turn into a million pieces and eventually will become like scattered dust.<\/span><\/p>\n

    EARTHQUAKES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The earth will begin to experience earthquakes in every place, splitting open and releasing hot lava and steaming gases.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cThe earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) will be a thing terrible.\u201d (Qur\u2019an, 22:1)<\/strong><\/span>
    \n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Such an earthquake that will flatten the earth; mountains, rivers, valleys and depressions, everything will disappear. A flat earth will re-emerge, which will be the \u2018Mah-shar\u2019, i.e., the Place of Gathering.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The sky will become black, like the black filth of oil and it will crack piece by piece, and then the Heavens as we know it will be rolled back and the colour will change to copper red with no clouds.<\/span><\/p>\n

    THE INFERNO OF THE OCEANS<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    The oceans will boil and create gigantic tidal waves. It is almost impossible to imagine the oceans, which cover three-fourths of Earth\u2019s surface, coming to a furious boil all at once.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The oceans will burn, and an inescapable wall of fire will engulf people. On that Day, all oceans will be set alight.<\/span><\/p>\n

    As Allah says in the Qur\u2019an:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cWhen the seas are filled with flame.\u201d (Surat at-Takwir, 6)<\/span><\/p>\n

    THE SUN AND THE MOON<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    On the Day of Judgment, the Sun and the Moon, Earth\u2019s two sources of light, will be darkened one after the other. The disappearance of the atmosphere is not the only reason why there will be no light on Earth on that Day; rather, the Qur\u2019an reveals that not only will the heavens, Earth and everything in between be destroyed, but that it is the final day for the entire universe.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span>The sky, the Moon and the Sun, stars and planets, will all be destroyed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cAnd the Moon is eclipsed, and the Sun and the Moon are fused together.\u00a0On that Day man will say: \u201cTo where can I run?\u201d No indeed! There will be no safe place.<\/strong>\u00a0That Day, the only resting place will be your Lord. That Day man will be told what he did and failed to do. (Surat al-Qiyama, 8-13)<\/span><\/p>\n
