Is this true and, if so, what implications does this have on our consumption of Cow?<br \/>\nAnswer:<br \/>\n<strong>In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As-sal\u0101mu \u2018alaykum wa-rahmatull\u0101hi wa-barak\u0101tuh.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Had\u012bth you refer to has been recorded in a few books such as At-Tibb An-Nabaw\u012b of Im\u0101m Asbah\u0101n\u012b and Shu\u2019b Al-\u012am\u0101n of Im\u0101m Bayhaq\u012b Rahimahumullah. Indeed, the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said: \u2018The milk of cows is a cure, its [clarified] butter is a source of medical treatment, and its meat is a source of sickness.\u201d [Shu\u2019b Al-Iman]<\/em><strong> <\/strong><a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/comp\/Downloads\/Cow%20Meat%20and%20Cow%20Milk%202.docx\"><strong><strong>[2]<\/strong><\/strong><\/a><strong><\/strong><br \/>\nHowever, this narration has been refuted by many <em>Muhaddith\u012bn<\/em> and its chain of narrators has been considered weak. It also conflicts many other Ahad\u012bth of similar nature. Consider some of the sayings of the <em>Muhaddith\u012bn<\/em> regarding the authenticity of this Had\u012bth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Imam Zarkash\u012b Rahimahullah states:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0647\u0648 \u0645\u0646\u0642\u0637\u0639 \u0648\u0641\u064a \u0635\u062d\u062a\u0647 \u0646\u0638\u0631 \u0641\u0625\u0646 \u0641\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0635\u062d\u064a\u062d \u0623\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0637\u0641\u0649 \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645 \u0636\u062d\u0649 \u0639\u0646 \u0646\u0633\u0627\u0626\u0647 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0628\u0642\u0631 \u0648\u0647\u0648 \u0644\u0627 \u064a\u062a\u0642\u0631\u0628 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u062f\u0627\u0621<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Hadith\u2019s chain of narrators is broken and there is a doubt over its authenticity because it is mentioned in a Sahih Hadith that Mustafa Salallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam sacrificed a cow for his wives, and he would not make a sacrifice of such an animal whose meat is known to cause sickness to others.<a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/comp\/Downloads\/Cow%20Meat%20and%20Cow%20Milk%202.docx\"><strong>[3]<\/strong><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Imam Dhahab\u012b Rahimahullah adds on to the topic as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0633\u064a\u0641 \u0648\u0647\u0627\u0647 \u0627\u0628\u0646 \u062d\u0628\u0627\u0646<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Ibn Hibban has considered Saif (a narrator in the chain) as weak (in the narrartion of Mudtadrak Lil-Hakim).<a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/comp\/Downloads\/Cow%20Meat%20and%20Cow%20Milk%202.docx\"><strong>[4]<\/strong><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allamah Sakh\u0101w\u012b Rahimahullah says:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>\u0648 \u0644\u064a\u0633 \u0641\u064a \u0633\u0646\u062f\u0647 \u0645\u0646 \u064a\u0646\u0640\u0638\u0631 \u0641\u064a \u062d\u0627\u0644\u0647 \u0625\u0644\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0631\u0623\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u062a\u064a \u0644\u0645 \u062a\u0633\u0645 \u0641\u064a\u0636\u0639\u0641 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u062f\u064a\u062b \u0628\u0633\u0628\u0628\u0647\u0627 \u0644\u0627 \u0633\u064a\u0645\u0627 \u0648 \u0642\u062f \u0635\u062d \u0623\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0628\u064a \u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648 \u0633\u0644\u0645 \u0636\u062d\u0649 \u0639\u0646 \u0646\u0633\u0627\u0626\u0647 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0628\u0642\u0631 \u0648 \u0647\u0648 \u0644\u0627 \u064a\u062a\u0642\u0631\u0628 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u062f\u0627\u0621 <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>There is none in its chain who requires scrutiny with regards to his grading except the unnamed woman, so the hadith is considered weak because of her. And it has <\/em><em>been confirmed that <\/em><em>The Messenger of Allah (<\/em><em>\ufdfa<\/em><em>) offered sacrifice of a cow on behalf of his wives and he would not make a sacrifice of such an animal whose meat is known to cause sickness to others<\/em><em> <\/em><a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/comp\/Downloads\/Cow%20Meat%20and%20Cow%20Milk%202.docx\"><strong><em><strong>[5]<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>H\u0101fiz Ibn Hajar Rahimahullah mentions:<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0642\u0644\u062a: \u0628\u0644 \u0633\u0646\u062f \u0636\u0639\u064a\u0641\u060c \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u0639\u0648\u062f\u064a \u0627\u062e\u062a\u0644\u0637 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u062d\u062f\u064a\u062b \u0645\u0646\u0642\u0637\u0639<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Hadiths chain of narrators is weak and Al-Mas\u016bd\u012b (one of the narrators) had become confused (due to old age), and its chain of narrators is broken.\u201d<a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/comp\/Downloads\/Cow%20Meat%20and%20Cow%20Milk%202.docx\"><strong>[6]<\/strong><\/a><\/em><br \/>\nThese were only a few reasons which regard the Had\u012bth to be unreliable. Furthermore, this Had\u012bth also seems to conflict many Ahad\u012bth discussing the topic of meat. Eat of what Allah has provided for you and do not follow the footsteps of Satan.
