However, all of these types can come under one of two main categories. These are the two main causes of weakness in a\u00a0<em>hadith<\/em>.<br \/>\n1. Break in the chain of narration.<br \/>\n2. Weakness in the narrator.<br \/>\nThe former is then divided into two sub-categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Obvious break.<\/li>\n<li>Hidden break.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Under the first category, there are four types of\u00a0<em>hadith,<\/em>\u00a0namely:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0639\u0644\u0642 Mu&#8217;allaq (Suspended)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0631\u0633\u0644 Mursal (Loose)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0639\u0636\u0644 Mu&#8217;dhal (Double Break)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0646\u0642\u0637\u0639 Munqate&#8217; (Broken)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>While there are two types of <i>hadith<\/i> under the second category, namely:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u062f\u0644\u0633 Mudallas (Misrepresented)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0631\u0633\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u062e\u0641\u064a Mursal Khafi (Hidden Loose)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The latter is then divided into two sub-categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Criticism concerning the narrator\u2019s integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Weakness in his retention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Under the first category, five causes of weakness are listed:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0643\u0630\u0628 Kizb (Lie)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u062a\u0647\u0645\u0629 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0643\u0630\u0628 Muttaham bil Kizb (Accusation of lying)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0641\u0633\u0642 Fisq (Transgression)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u0628\u062f\u0639\u0629 Bid\u2019ah (Innovation)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u062c\u0647\u0627\u0644\u0629 Jahalah (Being unknown)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Similarly there are five factors that indicate to the weakness of a narrator\u2019s retention:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u0641\u062d\u0634 \u0627\u0644\u063a\u0644\u0637 Fuhshul Ghalat (Huge blunder)<\/li>\n<li>\u0633\u0648\u0621 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0638 Soo-ul Hifz (Weak memory)<\/li>\n<li>\u0627\u0644\u063a\u0641\u0644\u0629 Ghaflah (Heedlessness)<\/li>\n<li>\u0643\u062b\u0631\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u063a\u0644\u0637 Kathratul Ghalat (Abundant mistakes)<\/li>\n<li>\u0645\u062e\u0627\u0644\u0641\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u062b\u0642\u0627\u062a Mukhalafatus Thiqaat (Contradicting the reliable narrators)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Dhaeef is a term that can apply to any of the above types of weak <em>hadith<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
